Because of the shallowness and narrowness of the canal, together with three left bends, we did pursuit racing with the second boat starting 10 seconds after the first. Mujaji1 - the orange-and-white boat is a Buk2005 whilst the black-and-red TaiJoss is a 5 year-old, badly-constructed locally-made, overweight boat. This is like racing a ferrari against a tractor so each team raced both boats twice and the teams with the overall fastest time went into the final.
