July 29th 2006 - Our first ever race day! As there aren't any other BCS teams to race against, we raced against the clubs mixed teams in wooden flag-catching boats with us in a Buk2005. The WCDBA had not tried this before so we didn't know how much of an advantage the Buk boat would be. They were very cautious and raced us against the little Monte Juniors to start with but we set a good time and so ended up having a final race against the Paddlesnappers. Phew!

The Paddlesnappers may be very supportive of us but this didn't extend to them taking the race easily!
