before returning to the Western Cape
Current Occupation: For the past two years Fouché has been self-employed in Coastal Marine and Industrial Refrigeration services, of which he is part owner
Previous Occupation: 10 years at I&J, ending as refrigeration Superintendent. Prior to this was at P.A.M. Refrigeration as service manager.
Academic Qualifications: Nat. Higher Diploma Mechanical Refrigeration Engineering
Married: to Madré who is also a keen paddler, fortunately!

Fouché's dragonboating got off to a wet start when he paddled with the I&J corporate team who were so delighted at beating their rivals Viking Fishing and Prem Fishing that several paddlers did a Mexican Wave ...

Nothing daunted, the following year this team formed the Club I&J Dragon Pursuit, now known as simply Dragon Pursuit. Fouché is one of the few founder members still with the team. He is a helm for his club and occasionally coaches them.

  • 1999 to 2003 - club paddler in the International section of CT's Annual Dragon Boat Festival
  • 2001, 2001 & 2005 - Florida Lake Chinese Festivals, Gauteng
  • 2002 - helmed for event organiser African Dragon Boat Adventure's regatta in Port Elizabeth
  • 2003 - Emerald Casino Chinese Festival, Gauteng
  • 2004 - Penang International Dragon Boat Festival
  • 2004 - Assisted coaching the All-Star Dragons junior team
  • 2004 - I&J Dragon Pursuit treasurer
  • 2004 - helm and paddler at the IDBF Club Crew World Championship in Cape Town
